About Us
Schaffner Publishing Company produced its first publication in the summer of 1981. It was a brass quintet arrangement of a J. S. Bach prelude. Soon after we began publishing the works of contemporary composers. Twenty-three years later, we produce not only arrangements for brass instruments, but original works for other instruments and voices.
Our publications are accessible music of quality and lasting value. Every dollar you spend on your music library should be an investment, not an expense. We choose musical works carefully, and print on 70# offset papers to stand up to time and use. We pride ourselves on clear editorial work and good printing. Printed music should make rehearsal and performance easier, not present an obstacle to musical achievement. Since 1983, we have done our editorial, engraving, and offset printing work in-house.
You may obtain our music from your local dealer, or see the Dealer section of this website for links to national dealers. Dealer inquiries are always welcome.
We have also provided editorial and engraving services to others, notably the Philadelphia Orchestra, G. Schirmer, and dozens of individual composers, orchestras, and musicians. If you have been seeking these services, call us for a quote.
